FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are your qualifications as a script writer?
I started my writing career as a "general practice" marketing writer (sales letters, case studies, etc.). I was learning to write screenplays for feature films in my spare time. I decided to specialize by "marrying" my two loves--writing for promotional purposes and writing scripts.
Do you handle writing projects other than scripts?
As a script specialist, it's important that I remain focused on that area. But, if the writing project is ancillary to the script, I'll consider taking it on. For example, if I'm writing a script for a sales training DVD, I would consider writing the accompanying training manual.
ADDED BONUS: To create the most informative and persuasive piece, I read articles and blogs written by or for your target reader, conduct Twitter searches to determine what they're "tweeting" about these days, and perform a host of other activities that are included in your fee.
If you have a project in mind, call me at 866.490.9756 or email a brief description of your project to mel@scriptsbymel.com.
How do you work?
First, we'll meet to discuss the purpose of your project (e.g. promotional video, radio spot) and brainstorm ideas for its concept. Soon after that meeting, I will present for your authorization, a concept outline or story treatment---whichever is appropriate in your case. Next, I will start working on the script. Two revisions are included in your fee.
I want to hire you, what do you need from me?
